Traveler reviews
2 day bridge over river kwai trip
The whole trip was amazing from start to finish, we were picked up at Bangkok hotel and transferred to a main coach to take us to Kanchanaburi ,lunch, war museum and cemetery then the bridge on the river kwai 😎transferred by Ute and long tail boat to resotel a beautiful little place in the jungle ,dinner there ,breakfast a visit to the Mon tribe Village then off,by boat, car to hellfire pass (quite a moving experience) then back to Bangkok. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute, our guide was so lovely but unfortunately cannot remember his name (he had a broken stomach, his words 😊) One thing I have to say is that We knew what we wanted to see,I researched and this was the trip we wanted, but the reviews were practically non existent,so was quite apprehensive about the whole thing, but it was the best time, things did sometimes get confusing and lost in translation but watching the transportation of lots of people on different itineraries all worked perfectly and pretty impressive……just do it,you won’t regret it 🥰
Great experience by the River Quai
I can recommend this tour. It was a great experience. The tour guides spoke english and were very knowledgeable. Viator's description of the tour was followed. I can also recommend the beautiful resort “Resotel“ which provided good service and food. The rooms are in very nice bungalows surrounded by trees.
Outstanding!!!
This was one of the most moving trips we have ever had. We visited the Memorial Gardens and the museum at the start of the trip. Our guide was very knowledgeable and sensitive, giving everyone time to themselves to walk around and take in the surroundings. We walked across the Kwai bridge to take photos before having a delicious lunch at a nearby restaurant. We then changed guides, Ka/Ha was his name. What an amazing attentive guide taking us to Hellfire pass, extremely knowledgeable and, we later found out that he taught himself English whilst working in the Kwai Resotel restaurant. His English is brilliant and extensive. His care continued, ensuring we got in and out of the, very low, long boats without incident. Our stay at the Kwai Resotel was sublime, a beautiful room, very attentive staff, good food and a great dance display by some of the hotel workers and their families from the Mon Tribe. The following day Ka/Ha took us to one of the Mon Tribe villages, telling us about their history. After another short trip in a long boat, we said goodbye to Ka/Ha, one of the best guides we have ever had. Following our ride on the death railway, great scenery, we had a super lunch. Our return trip was long, made longer by the Bangkok traffic. We also had a glitch with our drop off point, but thus far we can’t determine where the fault lay, so we have no hesitation in still giving this trip 5 stars
Interesting experience but with a few disappointments.
Booked trip easily through Viatour. Collected from Bangkok on time and all arrangements went very smoothly until our train ride on day 2 and return trip with our guide to Bangkok. The guide who we met at Kanchanaburi restaurant to take us to Resotel was brilliant - friendly, attentive and informative. He was very helpful and caring with us when getting in/out of the longtail boats. On day 2 he was excellent when taking us around the Mon village. We learnt much about village life. His name is Ka (nit sure of spelling). Our guide to and from Bangkok was NOT impressive. His presentation on the bus was poor. It was not helped by bus microphone being distorted. When our Train was delayed on day 2 , he did not keep our group updated as to what was happening. We learnt about the delay from other guides with other groups. Once on the train, he looked at his phone and fell asleep. Other guides were pointing things out, scenery and landmarks. If it hadn’t been for him we would have given this experience 5 * but he he really spoilt the experience and let the company down.

Guide is good in explaining the places visited. Needs to pay for water and need to bring own dental kits for the place of stay.
