Abandoned in Barcelona
Abandoned in Barcelona. I was booked for this 2 day tour after my cruise ship arrived in Barcelona. While on the ship I got an email in the TourRadar app telling me they were canceling the trip due to "unforeseen circumstances" and that they could still do it if I could reschedule to a later date. I responded that I had already booked my airfare and had to be home at that time. They said that they had called and emailed me. I checked and the only email I received was on the one on the date on the app and no messages showed up in my phone logs. I tried to contact them by phone as soon as I got to my next port, however it was a Saturday and I guess neither World Experience or TourRadar have anyone in their offices on weekends. I left messages. On Monday no one responded to those messages. They canceled the tour and refunded my money. Now I was stuck trying to find a hotel in a city that had 105,000 attendees for the World Mobile Conference, 295,000 attendees for the Springfest 2026, and the Feast of Sant Medir going on for 3 days. Hotels were charging 2 to 3 times the normal prices and were responding that they were fully booked. Every day tour I tried to book was already full. I finally found a hotel 26 miles outside of the City that was only charging twice their normal rate and stayed there for 3 days so I could fly out on my normal ticket. To fly out early would have cost me 3 times what my booked airfare was. I was able to find one thing to do before the rains came and ended my wonderful Spain Vacation. I ended up going to Zoo Barcelona on the first day and walked Santa Coloma de Gramenet, where the hotel was. It was my second trip to Europe and my first using a tour company to book. I had looked up TourRadar and they were supposed to be good. They were of no help at all. World Experience left me stranded at the worst time in Barcelona. I will never book with either again.
